ASA Ruling that two paid-for online display ads made unsubstantiated environmental claims
On 8 January, the ASA held that two paid-for online display ads for the online travel agency eDreams contained unsubstantiated environmental claims when they stated "Puerto Rico a sustainable destination" and "Discover our sustainable trips". eDreams argued that its travel services were predominantly booked in isolation, and provided the criteria that it used for establishing the sustainability of its destinations. The ASA held that eDreams had not provided evidence that its destinations and trips were not environmentally damaging, the adverts have now been removed.
